It’s been almost seven years since Huntsville, Alabama based Southbreed first flooded the streets with their debut album Hustleville USA Vol.1. Lacing hard-edged, bluesy, and soulful production with raw, gritty, catchy lyrics, this click tight family witnessed unbelievable success which lead to their sophomore release Southern Reign. Now Southbreed has chosen to push a new product to the streets, the groups lead mc, “Gee (pronounced G) aka The Coach”. On his first solo mission, Southbreed supreme hustler, is scheduled to hit the streets with his debut product early 2006 entitled “The Coach”.
Gee, born Mareon McCrary, at a early age caught the love for the art of rhyming. His passion for the rhyme first evolved in the early 90’s with influences such as Kool G Rap, Rakim and L.L. Cool J. Through freestyle ciphers and street battles rhyming became a breeze in the wind for Mareon , who the streets later became to known as “Gee”. Over time Gee created a formula of stand out metaphors, catchy punch lines and a savvy style of storytelling which established his versatility amongst other mc’s
Late in 1993, Gee enlisted in the United States Air Forces as a member of active duty. After enlisting he was shipped to the diverse state of Washington. Here he broke the barriers of communication amongst others with his lyrical expression. Gee continued to master his mic skills as he took advantage of every function possible while serving his country. In 1995 Gee returned home to Huntsville, Alabama where he meet the members of the soon to become family Southbreed. After 2 albums, rave reviews, regional success and talks with various labels Southbreed still didn’t meet their high expectations of a major label deal.
Now we fast forward to 2005 and the Southbreed name is still buzzing in the streets but this time it’s being carried by The Coach.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes.Anywhere you can contact my team.
