Band/artist history
Born Cynthia Littlejohn in Cleveland, Ohio, Cynthia started singing at numerous churches in her hometown when she was just 5 years old. From a family of 10 members, all musically talented, they would sing endlessly. Daddy always made us sing for his friends. We would giggle our way through the songs because we were so shy. As a little girl in the 2nd grade, Cynthia had a dream to become a performer. With an eye on that goal she sang all through school with her brothers and sister. As children, she and her sisters put on skits and singing performances for the neighborhood kids. There was this incredible harmony when she and her sisters sang together. While in high school, she - along with her sister and a classmate - formed a singing group called The Ebonettes. Cynthia loved to sing with her sisters, always imagining them being the next Pointer Sisters. Unfortunately, her sisters did not share her dream and went on with their lives. . While attending John Hay High School in Cleveland, her biggest cheerleader was music teacher Mr. Sam Bennett. Once he heard her sing he immediately became her vocal coach, putting her in the glee club and chorus. Then he had her sign up for the All City Chorus, an honor bestowed on the citys best high school vocalists. For 3 years, Cynthia performed with the All City Chorus for television audiences, as well as with the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra at Severance Hall. Married at 17, divorced at 28, Cynthia moved to Atlanta with her daughter - but not before making her mark on the Cleveland theatre scene. She appeared in such shows as Oliver, Fineans Rainbow, Euclids Beach, and Closed for the Season. She also performed in West Side Story, Student Prince, and Vaudeville Show with her sisters. Once in Atlanta, she continued her quest by performing in the stage hit Anything Goes. She continued to sing at any event possible, even winning a talent show sponsored by AT&T. Currently, she is living her dream of being a recoding artist, recording original music written by songwriter Curtis Butler. She can be heard on websites such as BeSonic, SoundClick, and DMusic. She has received rave reviews, delighting listeners with her sultry voice. She says I sing because I like to. Cynthias singing idols include Barbara Streisand, Gladys Knight, and Whitney Houston. And, like her idols, Cynthias dream of singing has come true.
