Band/artist history
Biography The Past of Crystyle: The Up Rising Of Miss Graye began back in 2000 when she first featured on highly acclaimed French producer Eddy Gronfier's 'The Magic Key' as the bad boy kid character Cool-T for hip hop/euro-tech group One - T. Before her rise to fame, Crystyle's journey began through the humble beginnings of attending CLF Ministries. Throughout her teenage years she resided in the CLF Choir performing regularly in services . She became a part of girl R'n'b and hip hop gospel trio 'Testimony' which she had formed with two friends from church. After two years of performing at parties and shows the girls chose to pursue solo careers parting on good terms. Crystyle now free to go in the direction she desired - the talented young starlet decided to focus on writing hip hop tracks and performing in church. It was when she was about to turn 18 a window of opportunity had opened and her life took a new direction to which at the time she knew she was ready for. Around this time she set up her very first bedroom studio where she began nuturing her nack for production. After the golden success of the One-T single, giving Miss Graye one gold plaque under her belt Crystyle was immediately scooped to feature on other tracks by numerous well known french acts. By 2002 Miss Graye had become a star in demand by many labels including European divisions of Sony BMG and Universal Polydor. Though she was featuring on tracks and writing for other artists Crystyle wanted to do more with her gifts of songwriting and lyricism and started focusing more on her own material. Between 2001 and 2004 Miss Graye slowly built a mass of musical contacts within the industry, working with well known underground producers and songwriters and working alongside artists who were up and coming like herself. But she still felt she needed more out of her music and began to write more softer material than the hard-hitting hip hop she was used to. Richie Cut of Genetic Productions spotted the lovely Miss Graye at St Francis Xavier Sixth Form which they both attended and collaborated with her to produce an EP with soulful yet uplifting tracks such as 'Yeah yeah', 'Memories' and rock song 'Everyday'. The EP was never released but instead generated an incredible interest for Miss Graye songwriting and singing ability. At this time Crystyle began setting up showcases and events that promoted up and coming artists and got her hands into the entreprenureal circles founding Blak Starrz and 8202 Productions to help assist artists with production as well as songwriting. Keeping her ear to the streets is what eventually gave Miss Graye the break that she needed. The Present is Veron: Miss Graye is the first R'n'B/Soul signed artist to independent hip-hop label Word Of Mouth Records founded by R. Guevara. Die-Lemma, the Talent Scout for Word Of Mouth Records, took an interest in Crystyle's music when she performed at his first music event The Word Of Mouth showcase in Nov '05. Since then Die-Lemma has worked closely with Miss Graye and has recently taken over as manager and has been there in assisting her to promote her debut album 'Closer' which is in circulation via W.O.M Records Summer 2006. A majority of the album is produced, arranged and written by Miss Graye with the assistance of Richie Cut on the Intro: Life, Love & Music and the r'n'b crunk banger 'Can't Bring Me Down'. Miss Graye also co-wrote with Shantell Whitlock & Jacqui Law on the catchy ballard 'Crazy' which also features rapper Lenzez for AfterShock Entertainment. Crystyle is set on going back to Paris to start performing again and promoting the album in Europe, Asia and eventually the States. She is currently working with both signed and unsigned artists on the W.O.M rosta and other artists from overseas as she continues to build a worldwide status for herself bringing everyone on-board with her. The Future looks Graye: Crystyle is about to take the industry by hurricane (cuz storm just does not cut it) with her unique writing, vocal, arrangement and production style. Being touted as the UK Missy, she strives to stand out amongst the vast growing pool of UK talent. The world seems just about ready to witness the explosion of creative talent from Graye. So London and the rest of the world keep on the look out for Miss Graye because she's about to hit high! Skies The Limit.
