Cosmic Grind was an avant-garde instrumental psychedelic art-rock trio formed in 1992 in West Milford, NJ. They had a ton of success locally, and built up a large and voracious following in the mid-90's. Their tendency toward long, elaborate compositions and a continual outpouring of new material kept people interested, and the band flourished, drawing large crowds in New York City and North Jersey clubs and other venues. The band broke up in 1997, and though primarily a live experience, they left behind a legacy of recorded music that can be heard here.
The band had many special moments, such as being kicked out of the George Inn for protesting the ill-treatment of their fans, opening for Nuclear Assault and witnessing a bloody brawl between members of some hardcore band and the management at the Cricket Club, playing various shows with good friends Bone Forest and Eternal Vision, etc. Mostly the support they got from their good friends is the greatest memory associated with that time period.
