Colombian Necktie is an extremely experimental noise/grindcore/punk band from the Daytona Beach area. Drum machine beats and over-distorted guitars back up drug-induced screams and rants over a wide spectrum of sound, from cybergrind to ambient soundscapes to scum punk to all-out noise all wrapped up in a cocaine baggie and handed off to Mr. Rogers through a gloryhole in a rest area toilet.Band/artist history
Formed in the Spring of 2003 in Crack City, Florida, Colombian Necktie has mutated and grown considerably in the past 3 years. We've released 2 splits, one with NY's acid-noise outfit 18DS called "Afterglow Snacks for Sodomites" and one with Ft. Lauderdale's noisegrind leaders I'MTHEDEVIL called "It Is Your Right To Stalk, Kill and Eat Human Beings- as well as an 8-track promotional release called "Sockin' Bitches". The two core members of the band, Callahan and Mr. Fergusson, are responsible for all material written and recorded to this point; Callahan being the vocalist/guitarist/songwriter/programmer/etc/etc and "Mr. F" recording, mixing, editing and mastering the whole steamy load down for subhuman consumption. For live situations we hire a couple other goons to flesh out the lineup. Keeping with the DIY ethic of the underground we make our own flyers, promote our own shows, print and duplicate our own cd's and record our music ourselves at home (Firehazard and Muckpit Studios, respectively.) The sound of the music is a melding of grindcore, punk, death metal, hardcore electronic and noise terror narrated by Sam Kinison's hemmorhoid reading from a 70's porn script.. or something similar. A sardonic affront to most everything the outside world has to offer, the final product is an objective audio guide to life that reads like a sick joke you'll never get. Here ends our flagrantly obnoxious biography.Have you performed in front of an audience?Not exactly. We did get harassed by the cops for shooting a music video in public though.
