The Coffeehouse Recordings was recorded at "The Coffee House" in Normal, IL during an art show back in the Summer of 2000. The "band" is actually a group of friends who play together now and then. All but one of the songs on this recording are covers of other artists' songs (all noted in the song descriptions).
The band is as follows:
Jillian Tully - Vocals
Tim Gupta - Guitar/Vocals
Mandy DeSutter - Viola/Vocals
Eric Peterson - Percussion
All the band members are now working on other projects.Anything else?
Recording oddities...
How 'bout that reverb? Heehee, the record outs weren't post-fader, so this is what it would sound like if we didn't use faders to bring the reverb in and out. It sounded better live, really...
The guitar sound we got on Tim's acoustic was an interesting sound. This was a hack-job recording, so we were just messing around. He has a Taylor guitar w/ a built in pickup. We ran his pickup to one channel and he put a sound-hole pick up into another channel. We panned them a bit and got the sound on the recording. The Taylor pickup got more of the lower end of things while the sound-hole pickup got the higher end of things. Wierd, but cool.
