Cockpitcrew

The idea of Cockpitcrew was born in early year 2002. It started with the flight training of Andy Moon. His Idea was to produce a Album with a Background movie. Simple flying around get some pretty nice and relaxing overview of the wide open sky with a lot of lovely clouds, sunrise and sunset scenes and try to get this feeling of a pilot expressed in music. It took 2 years to find a Publisher for our idea and then another 3 years to produce the first album. 2007 we was happy to relelase the first "Cockpit Crew DVD - Flight Impressions" and it was a sucesfull release.

Now we working on the 2nd Album "Cockpit Crew - Some time after". We plan a CD release + a 5.1 Dolby Sorund DVD and planned relelase Date is Autumn 2010.

Cockitcrew was founded in summer 2002 by Andy Moon & Chris Mind. 2003 we meet Hanno Bruhn a editionleader of EMI Music Publishing, and he liked our project and introduced it the the EMI Music Publishing Europe General Manager Peter Ende who gave us our deal for it and made it possible to finance the cost for the Movie Production part of the project. We started the movie and music production in 2004 and finished the first Album in 2007. In this 3 years of production we meet many supportes. Ray Horton, a brillant black soul singer, better known as one of the"real voices" of the Grammy Award winning Band, Milli Vanilli joined us and was guestsinger on the track "Con quen sere" of the first Album. The text for it was written by Jay del Alma a part of the Chart breaking Band "Pachanga" . We also love the guitarparts on the whole work who was made mostly be "Konstinger" the former guitarist of "Number 9" a wellknown southgerman Coverband with more then 100 shows a year.

They all made Cockpitcrew happen. Chris and me started with flights and with a small Cessna plane we discoverd Europe for 2 years. During the flightschedules i started to write the songs with all the pictures in my head and on the cutting monitor. After the filmfootage was ready, we cutted it, and concentrated on the screenplay together with the music. In January 2007 the whole work was finished and the project become a released band. And some less copies of the DVD are still available on Amazon. The storeversion on the markets is sold out.

Cockpitcrew is a Studio Project but we plan do bring it as a Live Act in 2010. We working on the concept! But Andy Moon is still available as DJ and if wished also with the overall Cockpitcrew Selection and other Lounge, Ambient, Downbeat and Chill out Sounds.

The influences of Cockpitcrew is a mix out of very good Movie score mostly from Hollywood movies combined with different influences out of the Chill out and Ambient Scene. We really love Acts like Schiller, Sun Lounger, but our influences comming also from very good Trance Music like Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk or Lange and DJ Shah.

Depeche Mode, Yello and Kraftwerk are also a part of our influences. But the most influence comes out of the Head from Andy Moon. I likes it to bring all his love to lovely melodies and arrangments to Cockpitcrew.

Different Synthesisers from Clavia to Yamaha. New ones, old ones. Editor Software is Lodic Pro 8 on MAC. Ableton Live and Guitar Sounds are mostly played with the Line6 Pod. Vocal or spoken recordings made with Neumann U87ai. and a Mindprint Mic Tube Preamp.
