Take 5 bored musicians, add the sensibilities (pft) of pop-punk, a bit of an emo-ness and the influence of Useless ID, Blink 182, Strung Out, Therapy? and Alexisonfire... we're fun loving fools who can play our music and play it well

Christ in The Precinct is The Brain Child of one Chas Himself. Six years ago Chas decided to get off his arse and do something with music and for six years he has fought to keep his band together, through members quitting, songs not working out everything luck seemed stacked against Chas in His quest for His own band. But then Chas recorded a demo, only 3 tracks in which he’d played everything, a solo demo and brought to his local night spot; The Dog and Trumpet. He played the Demo to Kev just to see if he liked it, 5 minutes later CITP had a new singer This was the kick start that Chas needed, between Kev and Chas, the others where recruited in quick succession, so it was that the first stable incarnation of CITP was born. Kevin Price, Chas Himself, Swampy, Ashley Coyne, and Kane Brook. With a band so full of stylistic confusion people didn’t actually think the music would be any good, they thought it would be some cheap teenage emo band with barely enough talent to get a first glance let alone a second. Obviously people wouldn’t think it would work. But after the first practice it was apparent that CITP had something. In the beginning the music was different pop-punk with a twist. But as CITP practice more and newer songs become written, the styles are evolving, into something people didn’t expect to see. Screams, 7 string Guitars, Double bass pedals, drop tunings, mixed with the infectious power and flowing melody of pop punk or emo and the ability not to take themselves so seriously. CITP are taking every venue they play at by storm. With The intensity of a falling bomb, Kev and Chas Barely standing still, Kane Attacking his Kit like it just killed his only child, and with Ash screaming into the mic like it’s going out of fashion. It's worth the 2 or 3 pound needed to see them at most venues. Swampy left the band in August due to stylistic differences and as he wasn't happy with the band they felt that they had no right to keep him.
Currently in the process of finding a new bassist and sorting out recordin their debut album CITP are doing what they do best: playing the music that matters so muchHave you performed in front of an audience? When it comes to us, live is the only way cuz we've still not recorded a CD. We tend to play whenever we can but we're still stuck just playin in Coventry so we're lookin to expand our horizons a bit. We've played with some great bands like 3 Second Rule, Wasted Daze and Beyond the Shadow and with each gig we just get better and better
Your musical influences
Well, bands that have had an obvious effect on our music would be bands like Strung Out, Slick Shoes, Alexisonfire and Therapy?. However, as with all bands, we influence each other. What equipment do you use?
Chas: Ibanez and Epiphone guitars, Dean Markley strings, Dunlop picks, Ibanez amps, Zoom effects, Ibanez and Leathergraft straps, larynx.
Ash: Ibanez guitars, Dean Markley strings, Dunlop picks, Zoom effects, Leathergraft straps, larynx.
Kane: Tama drums, Tama and Pearl hardware, Remo skinz, Stagg and Zildjian cymbals, and some really cool stix.
Kev: Larynx, microphones
One of the other really important bits of gear we use is tobacco. Chas, Ash and Kev can turn a ceiling into a nicotine patch in about an hour.Anything else?
