I'm Chris Rivera and this is my solo project. I was born a musician and it's always been a huge part of my life. The five songs you'll find on this site are a result of a summer dedicated to writing, then recording in collaboration with two very close friends and talented producers. I can honestly say that this has been one of the most free experiences I've had in the studio because I just did what felt right--and the chemistry between myself, D. Hopkins and Erik Hausch was definitely right! These songs are an expression of me, of my art and my freedom. I hope you enjoy listening to my music as much as I enjoyed making it.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Playing live adds a sense of reality and a feeling of freedom you just can't find in other situations. I've been playing live both solo and in bands since I can remember and each time its a little more exhiliarating. My latest solo project, which is what you'll find here, is still fresh out of the studio and that makes playing it live even better!
Your musical influences
My guitar influences include everyone from Jimmy Hendrix and Steve Vai to Randy Rhodes, Jimmy Page and Neal Schone. Vocally and otherwise, I like Jane's Addiction, Blind Melon, David Bowie, Chris Cornell and U2.
