I'm basically a solo act. I do mostly instrumentals - my lyrics are "undeveloped", and I don't sing very well (less so as I get older!). At first I was doing a lot of studio time, then more live & open-mic thing, now back to studio. With the lack of performance opportunities, I've gotten back toward songwriting and recording, which is very gratifying, though I admit I really like performing!
I'm one of those guys who never put what it takes into playing when I was young enough for something to come of it. So now I do it for myself. Too young to garden, to old to tour. So I play for fun.
I live in a very small town with limited opportunity for performance; I've done some open mic-type things, which I enjoy greatly. I've had times where I was really in the groove and brought the roof down, which is fun...
Pretty vast...I just admire skill and talent, particularly in the songwriting area.
