Band/artist history
In today's "bling-bling " driven world of music where the faded line between hip-hop and R&B has allowed for sex and irresponsibility to proliferate, listeners are hungry for an alternative. This same atmosphere has ironically made "gospel" a dirty word. An imbalance exists, and Caron has arrived to help even the playing field. With a combination of soul, rhythm and blues, hip-hop, and traditional gospel. Caron is the shining light in the darkness of the music world. Like most great black female singers of our time, Caron began her music career by singing in the church. With both parents being musically inclined, Caron and her siblings had a jump-start in the musical arena. Caron, her two sisters, and oldest brother started performing as the Lewis Family Quartet for churches and local events. Under the new title Redeemed, the group became a favorite in the Toronto area, known for their vocal style and arrangements. The group performed with major gospel recording acts in Toronto and also performed background vocals for numerous others. Their popularity in the community eventually led them to join EMI recording artist Faith Choral and with several live performances, television appearances and radio spins later, the group was honored with the Juno Award Though successful as a group, Caron felt that it was time to embark on a solo career. It was then that she performed as a featured vocalist on a recording for the First Toronto Mass Choir. She moved to Atlanta in 1998 to pursue her recording career and has been working diligently to refine her unique sound into something undeniably special. She soon joined New Birth Baptist Church and began working on her first solo release. It was at this time that she met producer Anthony Hill. Together they created new sound that embodied all the sentiments of traditional gospel music, but also possess the edge of today's more popular secular music. Caron's goal is to share with others the special anointing for which God has blessed her. By blending traditional sounds of black music and inspiring and uplifting lyrics, she hopes to deliver listeners to a higher spiritual and conscious awareness. Caron's music will touch the hearts of all, regardless of religion or background, and will spread love, peace, and kindness throughout the world.
