Calvin Edwards
New Jazz
Calvin Edwards is an accomplished producer, song writer and musician who has created a dynamic new jazz sound. Mr. Edwards' skills on an electric and acoustic guitar have audiences throughout the United States moving in their seats. Over the years Mr. Edwards has become a true entertainer.
At the very young age of six he began playing the guitar. His father was also a musician and singer. With his mother and father both very talented gospel singers his background has deep roots. Mr. Edwards, while in high school, won all four years in talent shows. At age 17 he went to a two-year college to study theory.
Mr. Edwards joined 'The Five Blindboys', a famous gospel group. Later on, he and his brothers Jett and Todd formed a band and moved from North Carolina to California. That was the real beginning of his career.
He recorded two albums with the Jett Edwards band. One of the songs was recorded by George Benson. Mr. Edwards went on to be a very good session man working with stars like Bobby Womack, Lamar Mitchell, Jodice, Jerry Reid, Gaston Band and many others.
