Caliph8- Soothesayer, Visual Bomber, DJ/Beat Author Current project: Conscious Postulate Chamber of Rudiments, is an amalgamation of different genres in a consortium of visual trajectories, head bobbing beats, ill basslines, vocal studies & rare grooves that represent the Hip-hop culture. The whole essence of this undertaking is to celebrate Hip-hops culture / tradition and create the audio aesthetics that we want through our creative influences. Abstract, Spoken word, Surreal, talkin drums, Jazz, Cubism, Funk, Latin, Afro-Cuban, Bossa Nova, Rock and other forms of sound and visual art will all be fused with Hiphop to achieve something that represents my concept.
Band/artist history
In '93 I started out with different bands, merging my style to Punk, Rock, Jazz, Funk then by 1997 formed a group called DownEarf released an EP titled 'Knowin' iz half da battle' group lasted about 2 yrs.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
i play at different spots, it's been a struggle trying to push the authentic hiphop flavor, Cats out here in Philippines won't bother to trip on Main Source or even That whole KMD thing. whatmore with this type of shit that i'm creating and performing. But i get the good vibe from people that come from other genres like, electronica heads, goth, rock, Jazz and all sorts of heads.
Your musical influences
everything from classical to noise collage. i love Funk,Jazz,Hiphop, bossa, punk, metal, blues. Bill lasswel. Afrikka Bam. Prince paul. Tears for Fears, list goes on...
What equipment do you use?
2 Technics SL1200 mk2,Shure N447 needles, and Ortofons,an old JVC boombox connected to a 1980's pioneer EQ and amp, or if i'm in the living room i use the family's Samsung component for monitors, a standard Desktop PC to use Acid, Soundforge, Reason and all different kinds of programs,a 2000 Toshiba Sattelite for gigs, a Vestax 05 mixer, a karaoke-micrafone with stocking popper-stopper, and an mpc2000xl

I really dig your sebse if rhythm and time. Good choice on samples and it's all woven together very well. I wish I could obtain a copy of The Bop Thickens - that's my fav. Anyway, very cool, man.
