The twenty something year old Rapper + Producer has an inconspicuous style. When he speaks, hes the E.F. Hutton that everyone listens to and the sum of raw east coast lyricism and assertiveness combined with a gutter approach.
Crisp-clean delivery, articulation, and track domination makes him the stand out Mic Controller. Hes definitely cut from a different cloth.
CALICO grew up Washington, DC. Just as most urban environments, trouble was all around him. Nonetheless, Hip Hop was his diversion. He began writing poetry at age eight. By the early 90's, he began to study the superior techniques and styles of the Rakims, Eric Sermons, Funkadelics, Parliament, Big Daddy Kanes, and so forth. This era began a new odyssey for CALICO - poetry to Hip Hop was an easy transition.
On the streets, Ive seen just as much as everyone else. I dont understand why people boast about it. Einstein's Definition Of Insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expect different results. I'm not a street n*gga as some people would say. I'm a businessman with streetsmarts. You get the same results from the streets everytime. It's too much legal money out here not to get it. I rhyme about what Ive seen, been through, will see, heard, whats happening, what I dont want to happen, my nightmares and my dreams, etc., and I'm not responsible for how anyone interprets them, only for how I convey them. I just recycle my thoughts and ideas over music. I dont act out my music, just like Stephen King doesnt act out his movies (and I hope you dont). If I did, Id be in jail the after the first single.
I never rap about drugs cause I never sold them but I hung around all types of people, and thats from A-Z with every charge you can imagine. I wasnt silly enough to do what they did though, refer back to Einstein's definition. I rap about what's inside and paint a rhymic mural with flame to it, and have fun with it at the same time!

- WITH WHOM HAVE YOU WORKED WITH -
"The list never ends, whether verses or production. I've worked with many names involved with this entertainment. I've done many verses and have produced many tracks. I say entertainment as whole because when you do this, you have to deal with an abundance of folks, e.g. musicians, designers, models, editors, photographers, etc. I've dealt and associated with local to mainstream, Little Rock to London."
- WHAT'S YOUR TAKE ON PIRACY + BOOTLEGGING -
"As an artist, I don't condone it, but it's here like this year, so you gotta use it against the bootleggers and figure a loophole. A true advocate of a respective artist will not buy the bootleg. As long as Peer-to-Peers such as Limewire, Kazaa, Soundlick, etc., cd burners, and printers are around, bootlegging will be around! The loophole would be to sell more ringtones, add something extra [DVD, bonus tracks, posters, etc.] to your disc. Bluntly, just make something available to your fans that bootleggers don't have access to or can't duplicate."
- WHO IS CALICO, WHAT IS HE BRINGING TO THE HIP HOP GAME -
"I like the term *Game* because I feel that some artist do play with the music in the worst way by not giving 100% product to their fans, but to each is own. I put my thoughts into my rhymes and not my rhymes into my thoughts. I make it so that if I feature on your track, you will want to go back and change your verse. I've always been one to want to be heard. Not in a sense that I like attention, but if I spoke, did you hear me? Therefore, when I do a track, I wil lay it down 100%. How can you feel my story if you can't understand my story?
