In Magnolia, Texas, the turn of 1994 saw the demise of Cheesy Drip followed up with a handful of 4-track recordings. Initially titled Gravy Day Demo '94, the title BZ would ultimately replace it as a more meaningful moniker. http://www.soundclick.com/cheesydrip During the summer of '94, film maker, Todd Jason Cook, scouted The Animal House out as a set for his film, Death Metal Zombies (Screamtime Films, 1995). Jan Mundorff & Wes Dodson were newly acquainted, apprentice drunkards and spent a month or so 'bonding' during the filming if DMZ. The two wound up collaborating on the closing track of the BZ collection, "Angel & Tommy", which was composed as a mock theme to Death Metal Zombies. "Angel & Tommy" would later be included in the closing credits of the film. Death Metal Zombies would also introduce Jan & Wes to a cast/crew member named, Thomas 'Shengar' Banta. 99% of BZ took place at The Animal House in Magnolia, Texas. There is photographic evidence of a single outdoor performance that took place in the back of the Hazy Hollow subdivision in Magnolia, Texas.
Anything else?
A number of the first run tapes (at least 17) were labeled, Gravy Day - Demo '94. These did not contain the tracks "Texas Hippie" or "Angel & Tommy", as they had yet to be written. The closing track on the Gravy Day demo was a track called, "Vidor", which was omitted after the name change and inclusion of the aforementioned tracks. Combined, Gravy Day/ BZ had a limited number production run of 101 cassettes.
