It all started spring of 2002 when Mark dreamed up s crazy idea...."Lip syncing is for woosies and communists, I'm going to find people and actually play a song at our annual school lipsync this year... A group was put together to play a cover of a Gob song (what to do) for our school lip sync. We were bad... We called ourself "Dog" , gob backwards, in the mirror. Oh we thought we were cool! We consisted of Mark, Nick, Dave, and the bassist was Charlie.
The Lip sync passes and another crazy idea came foreward... hmmm.. what if we stayed together as a band and were.. a band!! wow!! that'd be awesome, said all, but the bassist Charlie. So Buda funk Munk was born that summer but didn't have a name. We went un-named, and un-bassist for a while. We picked up Trav for a while, in the fall of 2002, but again things didn't work out and he left. Some time, some how, we picked up the name buda funk munk, but we have nooo idea how. We were again on a hunt for a bassist. We looked at plenty, but nothing worked out.
Then in the spring of 2003, we found Dan! He is a pro jazz drummer..but he joined buda on bass.. We practised hard and wrote them songs hard, up to our first show on june 20th, 2003. Things went well, we wrote songs and played shows. Our first recording ("An Uncle Revolution") was released March 7th 2004 with 9 tracks. Currently, Buda is writing more and more tunes, playing more and more shows, and developing a strong and loyal fan base consiting of... Mark.. who visits this website multiple times on a daily basis. Things are finally working out for this untalented quartet of losers.... Now all they need is a record deal. (if youre a label, please sign us)Your musical influences
ummm.. one could compare us to bands such as.. operation ivy? ..maybe? no, not at all.. umm.. suicide machines? no.. um. i got no idea thenAnything else?
