Band/artist history
Born and raised in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, SUPREME has seemingly always been a "hip hop head". And how could he help not be a head? With influences such as Schoolly D, Steady B, Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, The Tuff Crew, The Roots, and 3 Times Dope representing the city of brotherly love during hip hop’s golden eras, hip hop music and the culture’s influences were all around him. Be it break dancing, graffiti, style of dress, on down to the way he walked and talked, SUPREME was always more than proud to represent this culture that had taken the nation, and the world, by storm. But little did he know that being pulled on stage by a fellow RUFF HOUSE RECORDS intern as he opened for CYPRESS HILL would lead to a life of rhyme. That event was almost 13 years ago. Since then SUPREME has gone about the usual starving artist routine. Be it starting out as a member of the FOREIGN OBJECTS, a group of Philly emcees lead by the then SQUARE ROOTS, known to the world now as the LEGENDARY ROOTS CREW, to performing up and down the east coast in front of packed venues to almost empty store fronts, SUPREME has just about seen it all. As a member of groups such as SOUL FOOD and FOWL MOWF, to his now solo status, paying dues has been something that has been done with honor as it was understood by SUPREME that one doesn’t get to accomplish his or her goals without it. It was around the beginning of 2004 when SUPREME was faced with a tough decision. A decision that would ultimately decide if he was going to continue with the pursuit of making music for the masses, or if he was going to stop doing something he had been doing so faithfully for his entire adult life. It was around this time that his partner in rhyme, Dave Dubbs, had to leave the group FOWL MOWF so that he could take care of family matters. Always being the member of a group, SUPREME took it upon himself to continue on with making music, but with the understanding that he would now be doing so as a solo artist. He would also have to make the kind of music that wasn’t just acceptable to himself, but to the general public. SUPREME wanted there to be no doubt in anyone’s mind about the quality of music that he produced. So after taking every rhyme that he had written up to that point and shredding them, SUPREME started over with a clean slate and new mind state. With a handful of beats from his long time producer DJ BIZZO, SUPREME set out to start recording his debut solo effort DOLO MIGHT. And after the first verse of the first song "FUK WIT I" was recorded, there was no doubt in SUPREME’S mind, he was on his way to accomplishing his goal of making quality music. Hip hop music. Within a year’s time, 100,000 plus spins, several album sales, a few dozen mix tape appearances, several album cameos, and a nice handful of live performances later, SUPREME is ready to take things to the next level. With his eyes on a very bright future, and his aligning himself with a group of talented emcees collectively known as the FIYAH HAZID SQUADRON, one can only expect to see and hear more from SUPREME. With the general listening public quickly tiring of the pre- packaged music that is currently being forced upon them, his arrival can only been seen as a breath of fresh air.
