The Ocean Makes Her Cry The Ocean Makes Her Cry
Psychedelic Beatle-esque song about a girl stuck in the rabbit hole.
A musical mix of ‘The Beatles Sgt Pepper’ and Bob Dylan’s’ ‘Blood On The Tracks'
BrokenNess is the inspirational story and current vehicle for recovering heroin addict- singer-songwriter- musician-producer Regan Lane and his honest, friendly, often inspirational pop.Band/artist history
Regan Lane, Ray Hartman and Dane Estepa first played and recorded together in the eclectic Northwest pop/rock band Groovy Times In Babylon. They released a CD “The Smallness That We Are”, 13 songs written by Regan with Ray’s help. The bands’ song “Time Flies” spent 6 weeks in the Billboardtalentnet top ten, and the song “So Wrong” spent six months in the top 200 of the mp3.com alternative charts. The band opened for Eddie Money and Loverboy and gained a large following in the local club scene. But while these successes were happening for the band, Regan’s personal life was falling apart. His addiction to opiates had worsened, and it wasn’t until he had lost his marriage, his job, the gift of having his daughter Moyra in his life, the trust of his family and friends and ultimately his band that he asked for help.
The seed for the idea of the band name brokeNness was first planted in Regan’s head in a drug and alcohol treatment center as an in joke to describe the physical, emotional and spiritual health of the general population. Gallows humor. When Regan returned from his 28 day sabbatical he enlisted the help of his songwriting partner, best friend and bass player extraordinaire Ray Hartman and drummer/percussionist Dane Estepa to create a CD from the previous years experiences. The songs that had been written are snapshots of those times drugs, divorce, parenting his daughter and search for self and God along with some of the various characters that had crossed Regan’s path and new songs were added to reflect the uncertain yet bright future. As time went on, the feeling behind Brokenness began to change.
Brokenness has become a mantra of hope. The idea that what is lost can be found and that which is broken can be fixed is what Regan, Ray and Dane believe can be found inside the themes they touch on.Have you performed in front of an audience?Playing live is cool but the focus is to make cool records. Playing live is of the moment and making CD's is forever.
