Pop Rock

From the depths of Appalachian Ohio, a boy emerges. Armed with guitars, a synth, and a love for music, he creates BRAIN SCRATCH: Music to Ease that Itch The Sonic Cowboy creates sounds for you to enjoy, and some classy songwriting occasionally thrown in keeps you attentive. Now, in the harsh mountain desert of the nuclear town itself, Los Alamos, New Mexico, the Sonic Cowboy ventures to strive for something new. And he hopes you enjoy it.
Band/artist history
Mike Barker has been writing songs since he was eleven years old. Granted, they all sucked hard and he wasn't very good at any instruments, but at least the boy had drive. With a fairly good understanding of musical theory (having taken piano lessons from ages 8-12), he picked up the guitar at 13. He was never able to start a band due to nobody having the same drive and love of music that he had. But for his 16th birthday, he recieved a Fostex MR-8 Digital Recorder and went to work. Brain Scratch was soon created and Mike found himself playing guitar, bass, piano, synth, and some other weird instruments, and he even sang. Last year, he moved from his native Ohio to the Atomic City in New Mexico. With less time spent doing social things, he concentrated on his music and tried to go from writing instrumental experimental improvised nonsense to creating something people might actually enjoy listening to and singing along with. His music is slowly improving and he hopes to form a band upon his arrival at college this fall.
