Boneyard Asylum is a heavy/thrash metal band from Rochelle, Il. The lineup includes Mike Rowe on vocals and rhythem guitar, Luke Stanbery, on lead guitar, and Zach Nelson, on bass. We're kinda in a slump right now but we're in the middle of writing some badass songs so hopefully soon we'll be able to upload the crappy basement recordings.Band/artist history
Boneyard Asylum was started in June of 2004 in Rochelle, Il. by Luke Stanbery and Erik Albaran under the name Rancid Amputation. Luke had just gotten kicked out of Social Epidemik. Shortly there after, Erik, who had been in a band with Luke previous to Rancid Amputation called Hostile Addiction, came along and offered to start a band with Luke, taking on drum duties leaving Luke to continue playing guitar. It wasn't long before Zach Nelson, an old friend of Erik's and an old bandmate of Luke's offered to play bass for Rancid Amputation. The three jammed together for several months, covering a few Metallica songs, Such as "For Whom The Bell Tolls" before attemptiong to write there own music before Erik took leave of the band and moved to AZ. Though he was still considered a part of the band. Luke and Zach were at a loss for a drummer and put in a bad position for a long time. But this gave them some time to practice and begin working on some origional songs. Zach was eventually kicked out of his other band, the Swamp Zombies. These two bands had decided to play a gig at Teen Town the following summer, when Erik would return to help finish the demo and retake his drum duties for a short time before moving back to AZ. Luke and Zach soon started searching for another guitar and a vocalist, being that they were at a lack there of. in March '05, Zach introduced Luke to his friend, Mike Rowe, who had recently taken up guitar. Mike was willing to do Vocals and Rhythem Guitar so Luke, Zach and Erik decided to try him out. Mike was accepted into the band as the fourth member and the band was complete. Now all they needed was a demo and some live shows under their belt...Have you performed in front of an audience? Not yet. But we jam in the garage a lot.
