Boldly Stride the Damned began a few years ago in my parent's basement. It was spawned on a ProTools 7 LE Mbox rig, as a result of the mating between my fingers and my Jackson SL1. I've been working hard on this music for the past five years, learning and improving on my knowledge recording/producing/mixing from the ground up. This project has evolved from sounding lame and crappy to the way it does now. I hope you enjoy my flavor of metal!Band/artist history
The band was originally founded in 2009. Nate (myself) began by writing tunes on Pro Tools with no drums. After obtaining Drumkit From Hell, the songwriting process was jump-started. Once we had enough songs, the lineup was confirmed: Nolan McCormick on Drums, Zach Landis and Jake Dutter on vocals, AJ Noe on guitar, Dylan Cornett on drums, and Nate Dutter on guitar. A few months later, Nolan moved to Texas for work and ended up joining In Search of Sight. Dylan and Zach left to pursue other musical interests. At that point, the band moved to Missouri in the hopes of jump-starting things.
When that opportunity failed, the band moved back to Kalispell. Once that happened, Chris Terraciano joined on drums, and Alik Downey on bass. Now, with a rejuvenated lineup, the band is playing more shows than ever.Have you performed in front of an audience? We do play live! We had a full band a few years back and lost some members. At this point we have regained a full roster and are playing more shows than ever before. While my passion is songwriting, I also enjoy performing very much. The most special moment for us was being asked to travel 10 hours to Seattle for our second and third shows, (at Studio 7).
Your musical influences
I am influenced by everything. As a guitarist, my world changed with Jazz. My whole mind was opened to music like never before when I learned Jazz. That is still a major influence in my writing. Generally, however, anything that's groovy, catchy, and thematically appropriate is a good influence. What equipment do you use?
Guitars: Jackson USA SL1 Soloist in Ferrari Red, Agile Interceptor Pro 727
Amp: Crate Blue Voodoo 120W head
Effects: Digitech RP500, Morpheus Drop-Tune pedal
Recording Rig: ProTools Mbox with ProTools 7.4 LE (PC)Anything else?
I love music.
