Blu Black moved to the Baton Rouge area from Mississippi in the early 1990's. Frustrated in early 2000's by the lack of production connections, Blu Black began to produce his own music. By 2005 Blu Black was known as the go to producer in the Gardere Lane area.
In 2007 Blu Black made his rap debut with Down Bad Entertainment as a feature artist on the hit single "Out Da Box" . Blu Black not only rapped the last verse on "Out Da Box" but he also produced the hit single.
