BLACKLAND: original rock-n-roll. The band has been peforming since 1998 at clubs, festivials and fairs throughout the Southeast. We have released three albums so far and working on a forth. Blackland's all original music comes from the heart and soul of Muscle Shoals, Alabama but don't be confused, you will hear very little (if any) of the old "Muscle Shoals Sound". The music has been described as "Metallica meets Skynyrd" and we are totally cool with that, actually we embrace it. The band makes it home in the former East Avalon Recorders facility in Muscle Shoals. The studio is now known as Clear Day Studio and our music is published through Cleardaymessenger Publishing. Have you performed in front of an audience?
Being mostly all original, we tend not to do the 4 set cover band thing but our live shows at festivials, fairs and clubs are growing. We are starting to see the same faces wherever we play.
Your musical influences
This one is easy.... Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchett, The Allman Brothers, Jackyl, Nickleback, Metallica, Creed, Black Label Society, Led Zepplin and just a few others.
What equipment do you use?
BLACKLAND has an endorsement deal with Dean Guitars and DDrum drums. We would play them anyway, Check us out at http://www.deanguitars.com (look for us under artist)
Anything else?
A new album is coming soon. The 14 track album Cypress Burn will contain new music from BLACKLAND and some of the best from MESSENGER.
