Catch Bill Archer & The Last Round Up any chance you get...Band/artist history
Bill grew up an only child raised by his mother and grandmother. For as long as he can remember he has loved singing. Being raised by to women Bill had a sense of being the man of the house very early in life. Some say he grew up to fast and didn’t have a chance to really live, but just listen to his style of writing and his songs and you can hear a life of living, loving, and losing.
Bill was born in Texas City, Texas. October 13, 1969. His grandmother gave him his first guitar for his third birthday. Bill was already making up songs and singing to the neighbors by this time and loved being the center of attention. Struck by tragedy when he was seven his grandfather, the only male figure in his life passed away. His mother and grandmother did the best they could with this talented young man.
Bills grandmother owned a small bar in Texas City where Bill spent most of his time. It was there that his real love of music came full circle. Bill learned all the words to his favorite song “All The Gold In California” and at age 9 he was on the stage with the house band belting out the lyrics and loving every minute of it.
As a songwriter most of Bills inspiration comes from within. Bill has been writing since he was thirteen, “it was a way for me to express my true feelings. Whether they, were good, bad, happy, or sad. I could always just write them down.” Bills favorite quote: “It’s better to have failed trying, than to have never tried at all!”Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, bars, clubs, and fairs. Mostly in the Texas Area at this time most recent was April 22, 2006 at the Galveston County Fair. I love it nothing beats the feeling of seeing people dancing and singing and having a good time.
