BIOGRAPHY

OF

CHOZEN

Born Charles E. Dennis jr. aka CHOZEN, son to famous guitar player Charles E. Dennis aka Charlie Tuna who has played with several artists in the industry such as Bobby Blue Bland, Thelonius Monk and B.B. King.CHOZEN’S mother Veanna Miller (aka) “Ice queen” also Dj’d for Famous funk artist Rick James so as you can tell music runs through the veins of CHOZEN.

Born in Culver City California raised by single mother, CHOZEN moved to several parts of Los Angeles with mother and older sister living with different relatives. Due to the unfortunate situation of mother being involved in abusive

Relationships she then turn to drug abuse which led CHOZEN and his sister to even more poverty. CHOZEN always kept to his self and dwelled on the things around him.

At the age of 6 CHOZEN began to get involved more into music as an escape to things going in his life he started listening to rap/hip-hop artist such as Ice-T and

Public enemy talking about the struggles of life. CHOZEN could feel the things they would say even at his young age he felt the chill of the lyrical content and hardcore beats.

CHOZEN wanted to be just like them because they were free and able to say what they felt to the world. As the years passed CHOZEN began to experience more things in his life like DEATH, losing his cousin to a drive by shooting, one of his aunts to an Overdose and his Grandmother to an O.D. also He starting writing about it and and rapping to himself when he was alone it helped him deal with some of the experiences in his life.

CHOZEN now at the age of 13 was in Jr high school living in one of the ghettos of Los Angeles got himself caught up with some friends involved in gang activity, which led him to an early life of crime and drugs. CHOZEN was only 15 when we had his first child Dajean Dennis, CHOZEN being involved with gangs and drugs did not understand the importance of a child, as most of us would not at that age. He started selling drugs trying to help his mother support his child.

Due to child’s mother not being stable enough and to young to care for child CHOZEN’S mother Veanna decided to take on responsibility. CHOZEN dealing with the pressure of being as father now at 15 involved in gangs and selling drugs began to look for a way to deal with his stress and eventually started using drugs.

Hooked on Drugs at the age of 15 17 CHOZEN experienced jailtime, was Nearly killed several times by other gang members and overdosed but was revived by paramedics. After nearly loosing his life to the O.D. CHOZEN decided to get his self

Together got more into writing lyrics about past experience and things he witnessed.

Taking on the name “Dynamite stick” because he felt he released like an explosion when he rapped. CHOZEN got more and more into his music and started doing local showcases in the Los Angeles area, one being the “Good Life”. A place on Exposition and Crenshaw were all the local talent would meet up Thursday night to show off their skills on stage. CHOZEN was known there for his lyrical content and delivery.

There he met another rapper by the name Melvin aka Dr Jekyll from Compton California who loved CHOZEN’S style and lyrics so much that he introduced him to his own producer Russell Brown aka Da hustla. Hustla began producing CHOZEN and showing him how to space out verses and put emphasis on lyrics.

Dr Jekyll and CHOZEN started doing shows together but eventually lost contact due to Dr Jekyll moving to Corona Ca, and settling in with a Family.

CHOZEN never stopped recording with Da hustla but eventually started meeting other producers, one in particular by the name of Del a 27 year bachelor working as a children’s social worker who loved to produce music. Del worked with CHOZEN and also loved his style so much he invested most of his time and money into him.

Submitting Packages and such. But it was not enough time or money to get CHOZEN where he needed to go. CHOZEN then tried out for a show ran by a women that use to put together ASCAP showcases that he performed at several years back with Dr Jekyll. The women’s name was Edna Simms. Edna was so amazed with CHOZEN’S flavor that she called him for this audition and when he auditioned she automatically sent him out an invitation to be on the show.

The name of the show was MTV The Cut hosted by Lisa Left Eye Lopez. CHOZEN

Did the show which was a 3 part series consisting of 1.) show 2.) semi final 3.) Final CHOZEN won the show and made it to the semi final only to lose his show to a friend of his gospel rapper aka T-bone (Appeared on Hit Movie Fighting Temptation Starring Beyonce Knowles & Cuba Gooding jr) that had already had a deal and was working on his album.

At this time CHOZEN decided to change his name to CHOZEN from Dynamite Stick due to the fact that he felt he was CHOZEN to speak to people because of his past life and what he had witnessed and made it through. He felt that he had messages to give to people .

Even though he did not win that show he hooked up with Edna Simms brother Art Simms Owner of 1124 Design that loved CHOZEN’S lyrical content so much he gave him a job writing tag lines for major motion picture films such as KINGS OF COMEDY, BABYBOY, AND LOVE AND BASKETBALL paying CHOZEN $300

A page for ten lines of copy Ideas.

At this time CHOZEN had also hooked up with a guy from the bay area named Anthony Wiggins an owner of an Indy Record Label with one of the Artist being Twice burg Slim. CHOZEN appeared on a compilation thanks to Ant Wiggins

With some big names like SNOOP, SPICE 1, TUPAC AND NATE DOGG. The name of the compilation was WESTSIDE BADBOYS FROM THE BAY TO L.A.

The name of the song was called “Touch Em”, Ant loved it and payed him $500 for use of song on Album.

CHOZEN also had something going on the side with a label by the name of Soul power Records with producers Soul shock & Karlin that produced songs for Whitney Houston & Tupac Shakur. Unfortunately things did work out due to the fact that they loved his lyrical content and delivery but wanted to change his flavor to an east coast vibe and could not.

CHOZEN then decided to start doing showcases over again and ran into EL Debarge of the Debarge Family who fell in love with CHOZEN’S delivery and style he offered to have CHOZEN do a 2 night show with him at a Restaurant/Bar named STEVIES ON THE STRIP where he performed with El & the famous Marvin Gaye’s Daughter NONA GAYE, He also offered CHOZEN to be on his upcoming album he never completed. And eventually they lost contact with one another.

CHOZEN then auditioned for a show called SHOWTIME ON VINE hosted by Fred Berry aka Rerun from the hit television show WHATS HAPPENING. CHOZEN and a young kid rap group by the name of the Hard Heads were runners up for a $500 cash prize due to politics and audience screams the Hard Heads won the competition.

CHOZEN is still writing & recording with producer Howard Brown (aka) Da hustla but still has not been able to meet the the right Connection or Manager. He is currently married with 2 kids and one on the way praying that eventually he will get to speak to the world and tell them his story and lifetime experiences as he was CHOZEN to do.
