Biography: My mother first taught me how to play the piano when I was about 3 years old. That’s probably when my love of music first started. Playing just came pretty naturally to me. Mum and Dad also encouraged me to sing at an early age. I used to sing duets with my sister to entertain my parents as we travelled in the car on our country drives. Dad would later record our voices on a little cassette recorder for fun. I also started singing in the school choir and performing in school musicals. As a teenager I naturally got into pop and rock music. Hence my piano and singing practice at home became rather loud and “banging” which my Mum had to endure.
After studying Economics at Uni I started working in large corporations. However my love for music was constantly calling my name. Hence I started writing songs and found the process so fulfilling I decided to record some of my songs on a CD. The result is a self made album called “Secret Strength Vol 1”. Over the years I have performed in various venues in Brisbane and Sydney Australia. One of the highlights was performing a few of my songs at the Sydney Town Hall for a Christmas Concert. It’s always exciting performing for a large crowd.
I took up piano teaching after I left office work. I enjoy talking to all the students and they often feed me with new ideas for my own creativity. Recently I attended a drawing and painting workshop and hope to explore this area as well as a form of expression. You never know, you may see one of my own backdrops posted up on my website in the future.Your musical influences

North & South DVD Review
Starring Daniela Denby-Ashe, Richard Armitage, Sinead Cusack and Leslie Manville. 3 Stars
I watched an interesting DVD over the past week called "North & South". This was formerly a 4 part TV series produced by the BBC. I'm not sure if it is available in the USA. By the way do they show many British series or films in the USA?
The story is about a woman called Margaret who is the daughter of an English Pastor. She comes from a fairly middle class traditional upbringing. Suddenly her whole family is uprooted to a more dire part of England in the town of Milton. Milton is the home of working class people who labour in a cotton mill. This occurs during the midst of the industrial revolution.
I found this drama interesting in that it explored in more detail, the relationship between the workers of the mill and their "master" or owner of the mill. At the beginning of the story it depicts the relationship as one of great animosity and distrust, even to
Reducing Stress By Boosting Your Self Esteem
By Beverley Tang
Hi Everyone
Hope you are all travelling along well in your daily lives, especially as we are approaching the winter months in Sydney Australia. Many of us lead extremely busy lives in this modern day and age, which can often lead to anxiety and stress. For instance, there is often the pressure to succeed to gain the respect of those around us. Hence when we may not fulfil the goals and expectations that we may set for ourselves, within our desired time frame, it can lead to great stress and frustration. This can then manifest itself in physical, mental and emotional problems. I was speaking to a friend only the other day, who admitted to experiencing recent neck pains probably as a result of stress.
This trigggered my memory of an article I had read in a magazine on how to lift one's mood to "banish the blues". Some of the suggestions included things like:-
1. Regular Exercise: Brisk walking can help to incre
