Folk Rock

After spending 5 years performing politically charged music around the world Bent Brain has returned to Canada having fused content focused progressive folk rock with infectious world rhythms. Interweaving tones of jazz and folk unfold into the inimitable sound that is Bent Brain. The song writer Brent Bain has performed on the stages and streets of cities all over the world. A successful Busking tour through Australia and Europe afforded Brent the chance to perform at a number of memorable venues including: Mahogany Hall (Bern, CH), The Great Northern (Byron Bay, AUS), Moosehead (Paris, FRA), Werkstaat (Chur, CH), The Palace (Toronto, ON), and the Epcor Centre for Performing Arts (Calgary, AB).

The un-bound energy of Brent Bain's delivery is companion to his ability in articulating ignored truths through his lyrics. Topics regarding economy, politics, communication, revolution and a bit about love. The rhythmic and staccato styles of Brent’s guitar and vocals are complimented by the incredible dynamic of the band. Members include Snappy Homefry aka. Snappy (Bass), Ben Harrison aka. Dynamo (Keys) and Brad Park aka. Dirty B (Drums / Percussion).

Band/artist history

Brent Bain began Buskers Records in January of 2001 as a response to the lack of understanding surrounding the profession of Busking. The business aspects are based on a theory of community, and include contacts around the globe.

Buskers were once traveling performers who would distribute news and information regarding political and social issues. The necessity for the troubadour has diminished due to the popularity of mass media, even though the desire for greater education and enlightenment has grown. Achieving a synergy between musical quality and social integrity is the wheel that drives this Bent Brain.
