I was born in Puerto Rico many years ago, but I lived, breathed, and sang in New York City most of my life. I used to frequent the jazz joints and sit in from time to time and sing a couple of songs. I just loved to belt out some of the old standards. Just like Ella, Billie, Vaughn, Gilberto, Garland, and countless others who have sang way before me, and who have influenced my listening. I left New York about 14 years ago, and went on to Harrisburg, PA, where I lived and sang for awhile, but nothing compared with the excitement and the education I gained in New York. I then moved to West Michigan, and I still miss singing. So now this gypsy is headed to Carbondale, Illinois where I will be getting my MFA in Photography. UPDATE: Now I am in Amsterdam, the Netherlands studying hard. Hopefully I will be getting some gigs so that I can help pay for school. I've been trying out new things, and I have added more Latin and Bossa Nova tunes. I grew up with some old Puerto Rican and Cuban songs, and would like to incorporate them into my songlist. I have made many friends and I hope to make some new ones too.
So if you want to listen to the soothing sounds of Jazz, Bossa Nova, or Latin, listen to some tunes here or email me and I will send you some Mp3 samples. Let me and my music friends make that special party or reception truly special with a little classy jazz.
Intrigued? Go ahead...what can you lose?

Band/artist history
I have worked with a great group of musicians, in Grand Rapids. Included are: Roger McNaughton, piano, Elgin Vines, bass, William Huygy, piano, Randy Marsh, drums, Bob Thompson, drums, Mark Kahny, piano, Steve Anzivino, drums. I'm hoping to work with some more musicians in the future.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Right now I'm in Amsterdam studying Cultural Analysis. I still need to find my groove here, but after I'm done it's back to the states. I just love the old standards, and many of the great jazz vocals are gone, but what I'm trying to do is to try to keep it alive.
Your musical influences
Who can forget Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O'Day, and countless others. All my life I've listened to Brazilian, Puerto Rican and Cuban music. The Afro-Cuban All Stars have brought back that "son" and I would love to include them in my act. Also as instrumentalists I love to hear Charlie Parker, Monk, Lester Gordon, John Coltrane.
My sound is jazzy smooth and mellow, and a whole lot of feeling when I can or when the music moves me.
Anything else?
I just hope that more and more people support live Jazz and Latin and continue the legacy of the timeless jazz which hopefully will be around for a very long time.

Your understated delivery is perfect for this song, and your tone is so simple and lovely.
Greetings from Michigan!
Beautiful voice and wonderful feeling... 'Historia de un amor' doesn't deserve the last positions of latin-jazz chart :-) and I'm happy to vote it and other songs. Goodbye, best of luck!
