In 2003 Ben released his debut album "Ten Butterflies" on Different Sky Records, an indie label set up by Ben and his producer Ali Reay. Six months after its release the track "Your World Tonight" was chosen to be on an International compilation album entitled "The Greatest Music Youve Never Heard" released by London based label Mosquito-Media. Later that year another song from "Ten Butterflies" called "A Different Sky" made it onto a U.S. student magazine compilation about unsigned Brittish artists. The song that really took off from the 2003 release was "Gia" inspired by the tragic life of 80s supermodel Gia Carangi. This has proved very popular with Gia fans all over the world and is being used as a promotional song for the forthcoming "Gia Carangi" the beauty and the pain: event held in New York later this year. July 2007 sees the release of his follow up album "Fragile Moon" again on his own Different Sky label. Musically this album shifts to a more folk/country/rock genre and sees Ben collaborating with some wonderful musical talent notibly Peter Tickell from the "Kathryn Tickell band", Emily Barden from "Stella 66" and Dave Hastie and Adam Millington from Liverpool Based band "The Flicks". Both albums are available to buy from www.benblance.com and www.amazon.co.uk.
There is also a musical montage available on you tube.It has Bens song "Gia" over images and footage of the supermodel. Below is the link.......
