Bel is an award winning female vocalist/songwriter based on the Central Coast NSW Australia. She writes & performs with guitarist Glen Tucker. The 1st songs on her single 'Show Me Your Love & 'Shy' have received awards & recognition in song writing competitions as well as airplay on commercial radio, community radio & the ABC. Bel is currently recording her debut album & is looking for a major or an indie label with a proven record in the pop genre.Band/artist history
Bel first performed in a piano bar at age 16 & at 18 she travelled to Japan where she performed for 3 months. In '97 Bel teamed up with Glen Tucker & has performed in Malaysia as well as extensively on the east coast of Australia. The pair found that they worked exceptionally well on stage together & this soon transfered to songwriting. Bel has won many awards as a vocalist & is now having the same success as a songwriter. Bel recently won Pop Song Of The Year & the Listeners Choice Award at The ABC Newcastle Music Awards. Competition was hot with some amazing talent coming from the likes of 327 & Gilli Moon (LA Solo Performer of the Year).Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes. I do about 180 gigs a year in Australia. I love soaking up the energy from an audience. Special moments, lets see, there was this one time, at band camp.......ha ha. Performing at the ABC Music Awards was pretty cool.
Your musical influences
I love funk, soul, pop & R'n'B. Artists like Christina Aguilera, Maria Carey. There are so many influences because I beleive a great song doesn't have to be attached to a name. If the song moves you in some way then it's good.Contact
