Drum n Bass

This is my future-vision 4 the masses reared on beatz, the dancefloor and artistry. The future of drumset has always evolved. At times standing still,at other times moving... BeDhEaD is the bridge between these disciplines. Beats are not kept in a crate,or on a hard drive. They are made, real-time, by the hands of the trained skills of the drumset, manned creatively by BeDhEaD himself. A live show that diminishes any use for the crate slaves.B.H.(for short)brings drumkit electronic composition and production to the live show. A living breathing beat machine. Loop-killer. Drum machine executer. A hand-made beat messiah 4 the ones who are tired of being ripped off.......
Band/artist history
Drummer/composer/producer/artist/teacher, Bedhead-AKA-Danuel Warren has been lending and crafting his drumming skills since the age of 13. Raised by the ethics of punk rock, the searching be-bop jazz, the lineage of drummers who paves the way, the rhythm games of Hip-Hop. He has been able to wield a versitile hybrid of styles that have kept him in considerations in some of western Canada's innovative music communities. Getting a start in one of Saskatchewan's most exciting and innovative acts "Funk'n'Stein". Danuel toured and shared the stage with a (list too long)whos'who of Canada's best alternative talent of the 1990's. His drumming prowess was tapped for Nettwerk Records politico-piano-punk act 'Itch'. Led by the criminally talented Mark Critchley, Danuel toured the west coast, cumilating with an appearence at Lolapallooza'92. While rehearsing/living in Vancouver, the city's outlaw rave/party scene was in full bloom.Thru a promoter friend,Danuel was introduced to the beginnings of the U.K.'s latest innovative contribution to the electronic/dance music world:Jungle, which of course morphed into Drum'n'Bass. A seed, that continues to grow and flourish was planted at the exposure to this latest development in British breakbeat. With the majors taking a pass on Funk'n'stein, the band continued to add to the fan-base and make serious coin with merchendise designed by Danuel himself. Danuel and fellow FNS bassist were tapped to produce 2 tracks for upcoming Emo-band Pillar, the tracks were released on Melodyas/DGC compilation'Thrash Concert Tonite Danuel got a tip that the new A&M signing 'Another White Male'(they happened to be friends over the years anyways) were changing members and needed a drummer(Dan Wier, original drummer had taken up vocal duties, along with playing aux. drumset).Danuel auditioned, got the gig, packed in Funk'N'Stein and soon moved out 2 Vancouver to yet do his thang with a group of forward thinking musicians. The band rechristened themselves Midge and proceeded to have a great run on the Vancouver scene. Garnering attention thru many showcases and a live show outfitted by the use of 2 drumkits, electric stand-up bass, and the use of guitar in totally unorthadox approaches, the profile was on the up. Vans Warped Tour,Sno-Jam,Marylin Manson,Tommy Lee,Caddilac Tramps,Pulley,Nickleback and numerous other shows showed them to be artists of the future. While on tour Danuel witnessed Roni Size/Reprazents first Canadian appearence in Toronto. Danuel had confirmed to him his path, after what had been an incredible display by the Reprazent junglists of what can be done with a live band. Another seed.... Of course not everything can last, and the band went on a still undetermined 'Hiatus' Danuel started making appearences, with drumkit in tow, at local open mic hip-hop nites. Occasionally performing in the jungle/DNB rooms at parties across the lower mainland. Danuel again got tapped to help out Bif Naked's Her Royal Majesty's newest signing 'Gabereza & The Way Out'.It was a chance to work with one of Canada's best bass players Gabe Cipes(Bif,Retrograde,Tegan&Sara).Rechristened now as 'The Way Out', they just finished recording a 6-song ep with Anthony'Fu'Valcic(Linkin Park,Staind,Skinny Puppy,Bowie). With a bit of downtime,Danuel reignited plans for his Bedhead Project, which had been put on hold for nearly 7 years because of aformentioned obligations. Writing like mad, taking on the occasional student for drum set lessons, planning and assembling production for the live show, freelancing, and workin on a soundtrack, along with a remix job; the Bedhead project will be full-blown soon.......and the dancefloor will never be the same.....expect singles thru 2004 and a full length in the near future
