Bec Hollcraft
I've got a lot of edge in my music. It's pop lyrics with hard guitars behind it.

Bec Hollcraft appears to be a typical American teenage girl, living in a typical American city, dealing with the same hopes, dreams and aspirations of any 15 year old. What is not typical is that Bec has the ability to express, through infectious rock melodies and insightful lyrics, the everyday struggles of her generation.
Bec’s journey from a high school freshman in Portland, Oregon to emerging artist has been nothing short of a dream come true for her, she says “A family friend recorded a song I was singing in the school choir, and somehow got it to Meredith Brooks”. Meredith, a multi-platinum artist, producer and songwriter, was surprised by what she heard”Bec has a powerhouse voice, and when I realized she could write songs tooI was sold”.
With the support of her parents, Bec spent her summer vacation in Los Angeles with Meredith working on songs for her debut album. Meredith continues to be genuinely impressed by Bec’s work ethic, “ She has an incredible drive to succeed, she certainly has the talent, and she’s hungry for this”.
Bec’s talent has caught the ear of radio programmers in her hometown of Portland. After some airplay on local specialty shows, Bec was soon added into full time rotation and has received incredible response. Bec was also covered by local television stations, featured in The Oregonian, and was the cover story in Two Louies, Portland’s premiere music magazine.
Bec continues to play live in the Northwest, and recently began performing around Los Angeles. Singer/songwriter, Janet Robin, says,“It has been incredibly exciting working with Bec. She is a fresh and unique talent”.
“I have been overwhelmed by the response I’ve gotten. I’m so grateful that I’m able to follow my dream making music”. At first look, Bec might appear just to be a typical American teenager..but she’s much more than that..she’s also an amazing musical talent who’s starting to leave an indelible mark.Have you performed in front of an audience?Oh yeah! I'm doing shows at Highland Grounds, Genghis Cohen, The Joint, and Hallenbecks. I love doing shows! Here's a special moment...
...I was at The Joint and in my first song, my guitar string broke! So I changed it in front of everyone and then continued the show. Then on my last song, it broke again! Lucky me!...
Your musical influences
I've heard I sound a lot like Alanis Morrissette and Michelle Branch. I've also heard that just my voice itself sounds like Christina Aguilera/Mandy Moore. I'm really influenced by this all girls, I believe they're Norweigan, band called "The Tuesdays". I love Jimi Hendrix, Greenday, Weezer, Stretch Princess, Evanescence (Amy Lee has influenced me a lot)... I could go on forever but I'll leave it at that.Anything else?
Not too much...but I got an amazing new electric guitar that I'm very proud of.
