Band/artist history
Emerging from East Palo Alto and San Francisco, CA, Brandon Rhea, Byron Rhea and Jamarr Mosley make up the dynamic rap trio, Bay Maniacs, and are ready to take California by storm. The three teenage boys who now reside in Sacramento, CA, met at the ages of thirteen and fourteen. Twins, Brandon and Byron, who are from San Francisco, since meeting Jamarr from East Palo Alto, have grown so close they consider each other family. They formed their first group shortly after they first met. The group, which contained five other young artists from their apartment complex, was uniquely called 8th Level. The group’s lyrics came while they stood around and someone laid out a beat on a garbage can. Eventually Brandon, Byron and Jamarr realized that an eight-member group was too much to keep in order so they ventured out on their own and developed 3 Deep. The Bay Maniacs have experienced with a few different names, trying to find a group name that was both suitable and catchy. After 3 Deep they changed to Bay Maniacs but didn’t like it at that time so changed to the Mainys. Following the Mainys they called themselves Team Enemy before returning to Bay Maniacs and finalizing that as their group name. Their first song, written in 2003, called Bay Maniacs, was first performed in front of an audience filled with their fellow high school students. The response from the audience was positive. The group went on to write a second song titled Black & White Hoodies in 2004. After writing Black & White Hoodies, the group stopped writing songs. However, a little less than a year after they stopped, they returned to the scene during the summer of 2005. This time around they were determined to get off to a good start with dreams of taking their music to the highest level possible. They have since began recording their first album titled “Street Bangin”. Their first album is due for release in spring of 2006.
