The musical collective known as " Avida Dollars " was formed in early 2001 in Adelaide, Australia by two like minded musicians Paul Smyth and Paul Cartwright. The two met and bonded through a like minded love of music. The two musicians are a perfect blend and almost musical bookends. Smyth has an extensive knowledge of technology and and amazing ability with audio treatments, whilst Cartwright adds his talents on a variety of instruments such as Fretless Bass, Electric and Acoustic guitars and Keyboards.
We do not play live yet. We are not sure how we can accomplish this at the moment.
They range from UK based bands like Japan, NoMan, Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, Bill Nelson, The Associates, early Simple Minds and Cabaret Voltaire to the European Surrealist and Dadist movements with visionaries such as Jean Cocteau, Salvador Dali, Yves Tanguy and Francis Picabia.
