Tribal House

I'm Arty Visual and I'm a DJ and producer of predominently tribal/progressive and breaks, although I do intend on producing other genres of electronica.
Band/artist history
Arty Visual (10-11-04) Today, everybody wants to be a DJ and the competition for gigs and representation is fierce. My goal is to continue to carve out my place as a DJ in the Toronto scene as well as abroad. My interest in music began at a young age and has since been an integral part of my life. The art of DJing caught my interested when I saw Mix Master Mike and The Beastie Boys in ’98. Shortly after this experience I took my first foray into the world of DJing with a crappy 2 channel Lineartech mixer and 2 Gemini xl-100 belt drive turntables. My initial adventure into the land to DJing ended once I graduated form high school and moved to Toronto. At this point I was interested in hip-hop and turntablism and had no comprehension of the true nature of electronic music. Over the last two years I have been involved with the Toronto club scene including both Urban and Electronic styles of music and developed a love for breaks, progressive and tribal house. I began as a street promoter for hip-hop and R ‘n’ B clubs working with The One Clothing and Mass Appeal, but saw the downfalls of that scene; eventually I met up with DJ Random and we began doing our own rave style club events. Within the past year, by watching DJ’s such as DJ ?west, Jay Moore, Ladius, Scorched Earth and putting in hours of practice I have learned the way of the DJ and began playing out at parties such as the Network 23 raves, Teknival, and a few club events under the name Aotos (eh-o-tus)after only 6 months. Currently I have a residency on Bassline Cartel (www.thebasslinecartel.com) on the Dark Side every Tuesday from 6-9pm EST with Ladius and co-host Chris B. and I am working on getting more club gigs.
