YYZ YYZ
Learning this one (amongst others) for Hoserpolooza 2008, a gig celebrating Canada Day, at the Roadhouse in London. - One take, no cheating, mistakes, warts & all. Well, if I have to play it live, I won't be allowed to Edit...!!

Surfing With the Alien Surfing With the Alien
My 'interpretation' of Satriani's classic guitar instrumental. A few latency bugs in the 2nd verse (sorry). I hope it does Satch justice. :-)

Honted Honted
Another collective-inspired piece. Namely, just a jam over the backing track. Called 'Honted' after the taskmaster, 'Hont' - just nice jazzy funk verses, and a little OD on the chorus..

Bad Taste Bad Taste
Flashback to the '80's, spandex, poodle permed hair and outrageous widdly widdly. This was my contribution to Strumstrum's backing track. It's all done in the worst possible taste. :-D

Ferdinandio Carulli Duo in G, op 34 Ferdinandio Carulli Duo in G, op 34
January's collective entry. This used to be the theme to an old TV gameshow in the UK in the 70's. Originally performed by John Williams & Julian Bream. It's a lot trickier than it sounds.

Summertime Summertime
A fresh interpretation of a classic standard (or tired retread of a boring jazz tune) you decide. My first foray into jazz playing. Niiice!

The Vraka The Vraka
A (very) rough musical thumbnail sketch of a Greek sounding tune

Dolorosa Dolorosa
An acoustic piece trying to evoke sadness from the listener. I don't think it worked. Some find it depressing, others uplifting. It was a rush-job (the tuning is a bit out) Still, it's not bad (In my personal opinion....)

Bleed Bleed
Designed to be as heavy as possible. The result is a spacerock tune that is in desperate need of some vocals. Called "Bleed", cos the idea was to 'make yer ears bleed' (ahem)

Modock Modock
A cover of an acoustic piece called "Modoc", originally written and performed by the excellent Steve Morse. This was the first piece I ever attempted to record by myself. It's a bit clumsy, but what the hey...it could have been worse!

Santa Baby Santa Baby

Aris Aris
In memory of my cousin Aris. This was an attempt to perform a minimalist guitar piece in the vein of Ed Alleyne Johnson. It reflects the mood I was in at the time of recording.

Switching Channels Switching Channels
Done more for humour than for artistic merit (LOL). The idea was to picture someone flicking from channel to channel in an attempt to find something to watch on TV. The themes used are listed in the Lyrics/Story link above, but have a guess first...

Roscoe P (The whole Hogg) Roscoe P (The whole Hogg)
Country/bluegrass tune Featuring Bill Jehle on banjo. Still unsure why Soundclick plays the hi-fi link at twice the speed though....

My Big Fat Greek Shredding My Big Fat Greek Shredding
OK, it's not Big, or Fat, it's more Turkish than Greek, and there isn't much shredding in it, but I think it's still a cool title. The challenge was to write a one-chord tune. The hard part was to make it sound interesting...

Aftershock Aftershock
A bit of a spaced-out funky/dance styled tune. The backing is a drum machine, and my first solid attempt at recording bass guitar (not easy!). Dead chuffed with the 'false ending'
