{8.1.08} Pay No Mind (take 2) {8.1.08} Pay No Mind (take 2)
8.1.08 - Cafe 5C We had a few minutes left over at the end, and a buddy of mine who orchestrated the head for another project walked in late and didn't hear it. So we gave it to him. Gave it to him hard and furious.

{8.1.08} The Bonzai Blues {8.1.08} The Bonzai Blues
8.1.08 - Cafe 5C OK OK so that isn't a shakuhachi. That was accidentally left at home. That's a piece of PVC pipe carved to sound like a shak. And OK, OK. It's not really a blues either. Deal.

{8.1.08} Battery Acid Eardrops {8.1.08} Battery Acid Eardrops
8.1.08 - Cafe 5C A fun tune featuring a cut up credit card, a chip of wood, and Scotch tape on the strings of the piano. Interesting sounds from the piano and flute alike. Very timbral and rhythmic in conception.

{8.1.08} Kami Mono {8.1.08} Kami Mono
8.1.08 - Cafe 5C A tune we really liked when we originally improvised, certain parts from which we tried to duplicate.

{8.1.08} An Unwritten Flute Sonata {8.1.08} An Unwritten Flute Sonata
8.1.08 - Cafe 5C We got the gist of our improvised sonata and tried to duplicate it as best we could. Much different feel than the original. That's what we're about. No tunes the same way twice.

{8.1.08} Pay No Mind {8.1.08} Pay No Mind
8.1.08 - Cafe 5C Our opener. A nightmare to count the head. But it couldn't have been any other way. ;)

Kami Mono Kami Mono
Piano, shakuhachi, voice. The two sections are reminiscent of Japanese music and theater. 100% improvised.

An Unwritten Flute Sonata An Unwritten Flute Sonata
Flute and piano. A Prokofievian sonata-like piece. The structure was both spontaneous and incidental, as it was completely improvised.

The Burdening Glare The Burdening Glare
Prepared piano (credit cards, brass slide, clear tape, some wood between strings, guitar picks, and probably a few other things), flute, shakuhachi, some vocals. This is completely improvised. Enjoy.
