Desert at Night Desert at Night
Another moody instrumental. I just discovered open Cm tuning for slide guitar and that is the main sound featured here. Works perfectly for my style.

Opening Up Opening Up
I like the "space" in this arrangement. I also like the mix of acoustic and electric sounds.

power trip power trip
Another faster one. Has a bit of an 80s feel in the chorus sections.

The Raunch The Raunch
Another fast and aggressive one. This was written with an fight film sequence in mind.

tension 1 tension 1
Another Ry Cooder inspired piece. Suitable for a "tension"scene in a movie or documentary.

nocturnal pulse nocturnal pulse
A much heavier song than I normally write - I must have been eating my Wheaties.

Claypots - Crystal Cave Claypots - Crystal Cave
Another instrumental - had a kind of 'cave' feeling to it while I was recording. Features more lap steel as I continue to get more comfortable on that instrument. Also features a small section of mandolin, which I continue to not be comfortable on.

Comfort Object Comfort Object
First song with my recently acquired Lap Steel. Title comes from the novel, The Giver.

Another slow song. Features fake-Baritone guitar and mandolin. And Ebow - lots of Ebow.

The Cold Descent The Cold Descent
Inspired by the brutal cold of Ontario in January. A dark brooding piece featuring judicious use of the Ebow.

Caged Bird Caged Bird
While recording, my daughter was messing around with the microphone. We recorded her talking, making noises etc and were playing around with reversing her voice. I decided to use her processed voice to add some ambience to the song.

Gumshoe Gumshoe
Tremolo! Can you ever get enough tremolo? Probably one of the earliest guitar effects and still one of my favourites. This is crying out for a sax solo, but I cant play sax, so .. too bad.

Clear Glass Clear Glass
First tune recorded with slide guitar. Slide is played on a Les Paul.

Cadillac Fins Cadillac Fins
The intro and the tremolo guitar gives this a kind of 50s feel. Hence the name. The solo is double tracked with a slight offset to make it sound 'thicker'.
