Spanish Digressions # 1 Spanish Digressions # 1
New song (as of April 20th, 2006). I was checking the levels for recording one day and this was the soundcheck...I liked it as an instrumental so i added another (lead) guitar part.
Spanish Digressions # 2 Spanish Digressions # 2
New song (as of April 20th, 2006). This is the same as #1 execpt with two more guitar parts...which add harmonics as layers and weeping guitar bends.
Sleepy eyes Sleepy eyes
New song (as of August, 2005). This ones got vocals, guitars, bass, drums, tambourines, bells & shakers. It was recorded by my friend Mat Birthy in his basement.
Maria Maria
New song (as of Novemeber, 2005). It's got a reggae feel, with guitar, bass, drums and some nice backup vocals. It was also recorded in Mat Birthy's basement.
Lullabye Lullabye
New song (as of September, 2005). I wrote this for my unborn child. It's a simple guitar and vocal lullabye. The very pretty female vocal accompaniment was done by Eleuthera. This song was also recorded in Mat Birthy's basement.
We'll Move On We'll Move On
This is a new recording (as of march 26th, 2005). It's a pretty simple acoustic song with some slide guitar. I wrote this song for my love of the last two years and it's mainly about me dealing with the breakup.
You Need Some Love You Need Some Love
Very lo-fi recording of another new song (as of March 29th, 2005). I seem to be stuck on the theme of love lately.
I Miss You (Now) I Miss You (Now)
musically blends country with folk with a little extra hammond organ, rhodes piano, bass and slide guitar lyrically deals with heartbreak from post prom highschool sweetheart breakup catastrophe feelings
Fortunately Fortunately
heavy 808 drum machine beat, melodic bassline followed by a subwoofer bumper, all the while spacey guitar chordings...banter between a boy and a girl, with a triumphant double vocal outro
Thoughts Of You Thoughts Of You
mellow melancholy guitar, thumpy acoustic bass, chilling cellos, raspy heartached vocals
Happiness Happiness
uptempo downstroke upbeats, a frolicking walking bassline with reggae-ish feel, self-revealing lyrics...into a beatlesque outro of longing
muffler muffler
more heavy 808 drum machine beats, distorted guitars, with psychotic bridge and car crashing exorcist ending...release the demon...
sorely sorely
sad pop rock, simple, short song, with lead guitar through a leslie rotating speaker, that builds to a climax of pseudo-happy conclusions
the other night the other night
this is a ballad, with an acoustic 50s-ish chord progression, also features the beautiful sounds of the hammond organ, rhodes piano, a little bit of trombone, and an acoustic bass
there will never be another you there will never be another you
this is a jazz standard, acoustic guitar and vocals were laid down by me, while the lead guitar and bass duties were laid down by the tremendously talented Simon Angell (who plays with the Patrick Watson band and the Maia Davies band, among others)
