Window To My Soul Window To My Soul
The thing that makes this song special for me is that I wrote it for my wife when we were married.

Where Did You Go Where Did You Go
I tend to write a lot of ballads, because I like them, and like to think I sing them well. This one's a little different in that it isn't as wordy as some of my songs. Hopefully it conveys what I intended.

Unkept Words Unkept Words
This song came out of a writing exercise I use sometimes to jumpstart the process, where I sit down and try to write a song without using the word "I". Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Tall Dark and Handsome Tall Dark and Handsome
This is actually the first song I ever wrote, that has survived, at least. I include it for anyone who might want to see how far my writing has come over the years.

the Way She Feels the Way She Feels
This is another one of my 3rd person writing exercises, and I'm very fond of this song, because I think it conveys what I intended simply and without getting too tied up in trying to be "artistic".

Politics of Love Politics of Love
I actually wrote this song a long time ago...over 10 years, to be exact. Lyrically, it's exactly the same as it was originally. Musically, however, it's changed completely, for the better, I think.

Let Go of Yesterday Let Go of Yesterday
When I first wrote this song, the first few people who heard it jokingly referred to is as a "Floydian slip" because it reminded them so much of Pink Floyd.

Doesn't Ease My Mind Doesn't Ease My Mind
The idea for this song came from a couple of different places, really...my fondness for the work of Bruce Hornsby, and how when I can't sleep my mind tends to just kind of flow through ideas without really filtering itself.

Do It All Over Again Do It All Over Again
This one comes directly from sayings my wife and I have used as private jokes, and I just thought she'd get a kick out of me setting some of our little joke lines to music.

Wonderful Surprise Wonderful Surprise
If you threw Clapton and Sly Stone in a room together and told them they couldn't leave until they wrote a song together, they might come up with something like this.

All I'm Asking All I'm Asking
I spent most of the 90's playing in Blues bands, and that influence is fairly evident in all my writing, but particularly in this song, I think.
