Hi we're Gooch. Welcome to our page on soundclick and feel free to download our mp3s.Band/artist history
The idea of a band started in the summer of 2002. Zach, Andy, and Tony got together and wanted to jam. That never happened. They moved Tony's drums into Andy's pole barn and there they would sit until December sometime. They were brought down and Caleb's were set up in its place. Andy, Caleb, and Zach jammed out for a few months. The music writing process was slow and going nowhere. Andy didn't know how to sing with it and it just wasn't working. After Caleb called it quits, Andy, Zach, and Tony started jamming again. With thrown out songs from the previous jam sessions, Zach showed one to Tony and began messing with it. Andy talked about some rap lyrics he wrote just for the hell of it, so Zach suggested he use it to sing to the song just for the heck of it. They put it together and out came the song 'Step up'. That's when they found their style of music.
They jammed a little more and wrote another song called ' I go'. They practiced as a band playing covers and just goofing off. They were in need of a bassist. Seth played on and off, but never really could get a feel for the songs, so they let him go and asked their beloved friend Jesse to play. He happily agreed. They practiced the few songs they knew and goofed off even more. Tony was absent a little too much, so they tried out another drummer named matt. That wasn't working and Tony had to show him how to play it, and that was just a reminder of how Tony was more fit for the band than anyone else.
Now the four piece needed a name. Many ideas were thrown into the air. Many were shot down. Finally Gooch was suggest. Short and simple. So it stuck. Gooch practiced more and more, and a few more songs were written. Andy and Zach purchased a digital recorder, which fell apart on them only after having it two weeks. They now use a karaoke machine to do their recording.Have you performed in front of an audience? We play live when we can. We play just about everywhere. Every show is a special moment.
