Progressive Rock

Welcome to PANARCHY - proof positive that the craft of songwriting - intelligent, poignant lyrics, and innovative but sonorous harmony of voices and instruments - is not dead. PANARCHY is for me what UTOPIA was for Todd Rundgren. A real band for the band, in-between my own acoustic solo performing and recording.
Band/artist history
PANARCHY was started in the late 80's by friends Scott Gordon (keyboards/vocals/guitar), Steve Kessler (drums) and Daniel McBee (guitar/vocals), all D'ville High Sch Class of 82. They played mostly cover material during summers when Scott and Steve were home from ongoing U. studies. All worked around sizable time commitments - Daniel and Scott each a growing daughter to support. Little was devoted to original material until Scott as songwriter began recording tracks with Steve, then taking these session tapes with him of a dozen or so complete and forming songs. PANARCHY revives here as a vehicle for performing Scott's progressive rock material. This features the latest developing material as the band reforms for future performance.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
For sure. This is my favorite element of music - I actually can't stand recording. We're here to play for others. Special moments come more and more as we get better.
Your musical influences
KANSAS (Steve Walsh, Kerry Livgren), Todd Rundgren & Utopia, The Who (Pete Townsend), Styx (Dennis DeYoung, Tommy Shaw), Alan Parsons Project, Pink Floyd, Genesis (Steve Hackett), Dan Fogelberg, Grateful Dead, and Editus (Costa Rica).
What equipment do you use?
Powertracks, CARVIN, Yamaha, Casio (Scott Gordon)
Anything else?
"Thanks so much to my friends and bandmates - Marco, Brian, Amon, Daniel, Doug, Mark - but especially to Steve - I never would have made it this far and back without your continued support. We have one more chance at it this time and I intend to make good." (-Scott Gordon) "I use my songs and performances to lift people up for the cause of FREEDOM!!! - the most common and worthwhile cause in the history of mankind (it goes without saying that freedom without responsibility and justice is an empty dream indeed)" (-Scott Gordon) "My songs are real and based on real hardships and struggle, but I always try to point the way up and find a positive outcome or solution - moving as much as possible from reality back up to the DREAM of a better way of the artist - not the other way around" (-Scott Gordon)
