The Band. Well, we have Quozzy who does the singing and plays (or at least tries) the banjo and acoustic guitar. He has recently invested in a Line 6 Variax 700 acoustic modeling guitar. He says that if he ever learns to play the damn thing, he'll play it on the next album (should a next album exist). Mo plays the mandolin, 12 string, and acoustic bass among others (he is the baby of the band, at 36, he is the only one young enough to still be working). Jo, at 41, is the daddy of the band. His speciality is the capo. All he needs now is a guitar to put it on. Oh, Jo is also the proud owner of a 6 string banjo, a 6 string harmonica, and a no string violin which is well past it's sell by date. He once showed an interest in the Penny Whistle, but being a pensioner, he couldn't afford one.
Band/artist history
Band history? I suppose here I should tell you all about how Quozzy is the son of a 1 legged gypsy and Mo is an escaped convict from the planet Zyron or the fact that Jo is an under-cover agent for the parks commission (he thinks we don't know that) but I won't. I'll just say "history, what history?"
Have you performed in front of an audience?
The boys do play live, much to the disappointment of the general public. The boys appear (and play) at the Borough Arms in Gateshead (Tyne & Wear) every Thursday. The landlord has tried locking the door, but they still manage to break in. The band are so well known in their native Gateshead that an "Ear-plug seller" has set up a stall outside the Borough and is doing a roaring trade on a Thursday nights.
Your musical influences
Everyone (except sodding Elvis) from Chopin to Floyd and that dog that used to sing on the Esther Rantzen show.
What equipment do you use?
I have a Swiss Army knife which does me fine.
Anything else?
Anything goes? Anything goes.................I'm sure there's a song there somewhere
