One Step One Step
The newest single from benita a. Rudolph has that great new urban sound that dominates the gospel radio.
Born to sing., may be the best way to describe one of the Gospel musics newest songbirds, Benita A. Rudolph. She has had years of experience in using her God-given talent. This singing sensation started performing in her church choir at the tender age of seven. She began composing songs by the time she was twelve and was blessed to play by ear on the keyboard that her minister father purchased. On Sunday mornings, she would play the songs that she had written on that particular week. This led her to performing at various pageants, talent shows and church conventions.
Performing around the country at various venues has exposed the nation to her melodic harmonies and rich vocals. The anointing is definitely making the difference in her life and career. As one of the stars of the hit Tony Award Nominated stage play My Grandmother Prayed for Me, she has already captured the attention of many celebrities. One such celebrity is gospel great Dorinda Clark-Cole.
Benitas relationship with Dorinda began when they met at a womens conference in 2004 in Little Rock, AR. The two continued to communicate and Benita was invited to join Dorinda as a Spotlight Artist at her annual Singers and Musicians Conference. Dorinda was attracted to the young singers presence and powerful voice. From that point on, Benita has followed in her mentors footsteps. Under the guidance of her friend and mentor, gospel great Dorinda Clark Cole, Benita is making a major splash on the gospel music scene. Benita has shared stages with gospel greats Hezekiah Walker, Dr. Vernard Johnson, the Virginia Mass Choir and the Detroit Mass Choir.
Gracing stages from the mid-west to Broadway, Benita has seized every opportunity to let her light shine and showcase her God-given talents as she continues to live her ministry and produce music for all ages. She was named the 2005 Arkansas Performing Arts Superior Vocalist of the Year; the 2004 TCAA/BCN New Artist of the Year; and made an appearance on the Word Networks Bobby Jones Gospel Show. In addition to these honors, she most recently opened concerts for Grammy and Stellar Award-winning artist Helen Baylor, Vickie Winans, Michael and Regina Winans, and the sensational Lisa McClendon. Benita has also been featured in New Yorks 2006 Gospel Superfest Showcase.
Her debut single release, One Step is a beautiful arrangement of modern contemporary gospel with a mix of pop and r&b in the musical composition. Over production by Joe Smith, musician for the Clark Sisters and Music Director for Dorinda, Benita sings the praises of her God and encourages the listener to be faithful and move forward with Gods grace by taking just one step.
