Maxwell S. Jones

I enjoy jazz, blues, rock and good country so I think it sounds like those four styles mixed together. The lyrics are the most important thing with the majority

Country General

I am not a band; I am a man. My songs are done on a cheap recording device. Everything is written and performed by me unless the caption mentions otherwise.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I live and play in the Rotten Apple Valley, including Appleton, Menasha and Neenah.
Your musical influences
I was first inlfuenced by straightforward blues like BB King, Muddy Waters, Lightin' Hopkins, Robert Johnson, Freddie King, Albert Collins, then I delved into rock, trying to play like David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, and Mark Knopfler, I tried to hit Chet Atkins pretty hard, more recently I've been trying the jazz thing, trying to learn from players like Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Joe Pass, and Herb Ellis, and now I've come full circle and am digging the primitive blues again. If the music of Charles Mingus and the words of Kris Kristofferson could join smoothly with a serious dose of blues and a little rock I would consider that the best music imaginable so that's what I'm trying to go for.
What equipment do you use?
I've got a fat Gretsch 5120, and my secondary guitar is a fender telecaster. I also have a Washburn acoustic and some others that I don't play regularly.
Anything else?
