Well...I've been singing & rapping every since I was in elementary school...It was just a hobby at first but eventually it became my passion...I started doing R & B and Hip- Hop but I didn't feel complete...I knew that there was a greater purpose for my music...During my first year of graduate school in 2002...I became a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church..The Vision Center under the leadership of Bishop Stanley B. Searcy Sr. and Co- Pastor Brenda Searcy....That's when everything changed for me...I begin to connect with people who had a passion for the things of GOD and the fullness of HIS glory...I began to grow musically and I eventually join the choirs and praise team...I also connected with some guys who were doing Gospel Rap...I've never heard of it before but once I heard it I knew that I had to get involved...Early 2005 I help create a Gospel rap group...The Ambassadors 4 Christ...the members consisted of 4 guys...Tyrie Thomas, My self(Benta' Thomas), Mike Butts, and Chris Tenner...We all had our individual styles that made the group unique...We performed around the local area at our church and surrounding churches....In 2006 we recorded our first album self-entitled (The Ambassadors 4 Christ)...Well that was also a season of great change...Due to reasons that I won't discuss...the group fell apart...for the most part we all decided to go our separate ways...which leads me up to the present...I've been working on my solo project for the past couple years...Taking my life experiences and circumstances..my testimony putting them on track....I thank GOD for my experiences and I hope that my music can be a blessing to those who may listen...If I never get a record deal or heard by a major label...I will still be content and still make music for I know that GOD has blessed me with a gift to share to those who will listen so I hope you enjoy what you hear...Be blessedHave you performed in front of an audience?Yes most definitely....I've mostly perform at Church functions in the surrounding areas....I enjoy it a lot
Your musical influences
My style is a little different for I sing and rap....so you can expect a little bit of everything...styles ranging from Boyz II Men / Jodeci/ Byron Cage influenced singing...to Outkast/ D.A. T.R.U.T.H./ Trip Lee/ Kanye West styled flow.....Very fun and ecclectic assortment of styles and music....What equipment do you use?
All kind of beats and music....I also play a little piano every now and then..Anything else?
