Biography Born of Swedish-American father and German/Native-American mother. Youth No1z journey in music began in the mid nineties when he was inspired by the sounds of hip hop producer Dr. Dre. No1 had been writing song lyrics since the young age of 16 compiling notebooks of lyrical content. After hearing the sound revolution that was taking place he started creating instrumentals using a music editing program called Sonic Foundrys Acid. It became an obsession of his to create. Staying up all hours of the night, he would continue to work on music until he began to master his craft. After learning the ins and outs of the program he began purchasing royalty free sound samples from all over the world. No1 started learning the techniques of beat blending and sound manipulation. Beat blending and manipulation of samples wasnt enough to complete his production education though. The next step in his production journey was learning the software program called Reason. Reason enabled him to start playing melodys and opened up the world of MIDI. The combined knowledge of the programs took his productions to the next level. Armed with beats No1 continued to pursue his dream. Straight out of high school No1 attended MIW (Music Industry Workshop) in the city of Chicago and received his certification in sound and studio engineering. MIW is a music training program with sound educational classes taught by industry professionals and professors from Columbia College in Chicago. Years of long hours and late nights of hard work eventually led to the creation of a catalogue of original instrumentals that he was able to demo around the city of Chicago. It didnt take long for his work to get recognized and soon he was on his way to NYC to meet with some industry professionals. At the age of 19 he was brought to understand the roots of Hip Hop. While in New York City he was first introduced to grammy winning entrepreneur Charles Farrar at his production studio in upper Manhattan called the Weight Room. He later was sent to the Zulu Nation anniversary party at the big skate key in Brooklyn and there he met Afrika Bambatta. This was No1z first real introduction to Hip Hop culture. Later, No1 began to combine all the work that he had been creating over the years and released his first solo indie album release entitled Global Warming. The album featured raw cutting edge productions from his catalogue of instrumentals along with hand selected artists and performances by Jonny SoundSkape, Sick Sense, DJ Duke and what was at the time of release his underground Hip Hop group 2nd Thought. Solo No1 is building an underground Hip Hop empire by releasing albums independently and gaining enough momentum to be able to produce for other artists and release them under his label NO1ZRECORDZ . He continues to be embedded behind the underground Hip Hop scene in Chicago and is in the process of producing songs for artists all over the world. No1 has begun fulfilling yet another dream musically and has started studying the art-form of the DJ. No1 is experimenting and learning to mix and scratch with Numarks NS7. No1 remains in the underground Hip Hop scene and continues to gain recognition from artists such as DJ Honda, Slug, Murs, Swollen Members and DJ Babu just to name a few. News Most recently No1 is working on his 2nd solo album entitled Blue Ocean that currently has no set release date. New songs from the Blue Ocean album will be released independently before the album release date. No1 will soon begin hosting a podcast radio show called The Lab which will feature new songs and live performances available as streams for subscribers as well as downloads via Itunes.
