An innovative and refreshingly new sound has seen SLAIN become the most sought after live band act in the past year. Since its conception in mid-2006, they've pushed for nothing less than the best in all spheres of musical perfection, making clear their intentions of fronting the massive army of rock fans in India. The band has competed in numerous competitions nationally and bagged nothing less than the winners gold at almost every venue. Their most memorable victories being the prestigious Kingfisher October Fest-Rock 07, Bangalore Unwind Center 'Underground' Rock competition, IIT Suratkal, CMC Vellore 07, CBIT Hyderabad Carpe Diem, and probably the most cut-throat competitions of them all, the NLS Strawberry fields '07, IIT Chennai Saarang’08& IIT Mumbai Livewire’08. The band has also been invited as headlining acts at several venues such as Bangalore Hubba 07, CMC Vellore Pegasus 08, Unwind Centres June Rock Out 08, RSJ PubRock Fest08, Fete de la Musique Bangalore 08, Mount Carmels Bangalore, Jyothi Nivas Bangalore, to name a few, and continue to be booked months in advance by organizers looking for fresh rocking talent.
Slain has been featured in the acclaimed Indian Music magazines Score(Chennai) and RSJ (Rock street journal), with full length two page feature articles on them, and also in various mainstream newspapers like the Times of India, Deccan Herald, Mid-Day and the Indian Express. They were invited live on air by Radio Indigo where they were interviewed and their original music played on FM.
