Growing up in Myrtle Beach, SC, the nickname Lucky was giving by a cousin named Trav when he was about 3 years old. While at North Myrtle Beach High School during rap contest at lunch is where Lucky harnessed his skills as a rapper. The rap contests where an outlet of the day for thoughts and topics that had transpired throughout the activities of the day . After hearing Boyz II Men - End of the Road, is where the love of Hip Hop began. The greatest rap inspirations coming from The Notorious B.I.G album Ready to Die, Later writing his first freestyle off of a Sir Mix a Lot beat. This is when Lucky was really captivated to make his own album. Just thinking of the magnitude of his talent and the lyrics that flowed within, really compelled him to venture out and display his talent. In early 2000 Lucky formed the group with two of Wampee's finest rappers simply known as Star and Sunni G, soon to be collectively known as B-1NZ. While each of the groups members were pursuing their rap dreams, they kept bumping into one another along the way in the small hip-hop and rap circuit in their area. After quite a few run ins throughout the circuit, they began battling one another on school grounds, in parks, and in the local talent shows. Through this process, they were able to eliminate weak challengers and gain a sense of each others strengths and weaknesses. Shortly thereafter, these three individuals fused into one body to become B-1NZ. The name B-1NZ is an acronym that was first derived from the moniker Barefooted Black Ones, which the group later shortened to become Black Ones; Black Ones stands for Bringing Lyrics And Constant Knowledge On Everyone. Through the years, their name has remained the same but their philosophy on music has changed to a more unified difference. This more rounded philosophy has become a blessing because it has paved the way for the trio to accomplish many goals and conquer quite a bit of obstacles. B-1NZs rap style cannot be compared to any other than themselves due to their backwoods resonance of the true dirty south that united with the harmonies of up top. B-1NZs. As Lucky embarks on his journey, he has never a strayed from his core values, Placing God first in everything that he does. Never expect everyone to like what you put on wax. Someone always has it worse than you do no matter what you are going through . Stay humble and you will prosper when it is all said in done. His favorite saying is "Never Plan to Fail, Plan to Succeed". Lucky is forever motivated my his family period. They are the reason behind the everyday hustle and grind. Lucky's says, " No matter what happens they hold me down thru the good times and the bad times." As a musician Lucky has set forth two major goals for himself. The first of the goals is to create jobs for the others that are still struggling in the hood. Last is the goal that is closets to Lucky's heart and that is creating an athletic program for the kids in the hood to provide them with an outlet and a way to show there talents. Once them make it out of there everyday struggles they can turn around and help out the children that are coming up thru the struggle.
