Beats General

Focus Group has been surviving as a band for 3 years. Originally a collection of five members, university has reduced us to four. This apparent set back has proved to be a blessing in disguise, forcing us to switch instruments during shows, involve more complicated electronics and to try and compensate for the lost energy of an A.D.D. drummer. Despite our loss, we have thrived. We are building a following of faithful Austin fans and have begun reaching to San Antonio and San Marcos to try to expand this base. We are an eclectic collection of musicians with backgrounds spanning from classical tutelage to turn-table troubadour. For now, Focus Group is an independent enterprise. Saving every dollar made and putting it straight back into the band itself. We have just recorded our first EP release at Wire Studios in Austin. It is now available in Austin local record stores and from us online and at shows. Above all, we are a group of friends, all native to Texas, all working to create something that has never been seen before and to make sure you can move to it.

We play live all the time in Austin and surrounding cities. We recently had a very successful EP release party at Lamberts in downtown Austin. The crowd was wonderful and the sound guy was very helpful. One time we played on a boat.
